When you’re expecting a tiny human, the amount of decisions to make can feel overwhelming. But when it comes to your newborn photos, you don’t have to choose.

You can have both candid moments in your home and clean, classic studio portraits, because I bring my studio setup to your home. And better yet, in all of my newborn sessions, there’s always space and time for all the combinations your heart desires – the cutest details, baby solo, siblings together, and the whole family.

Imagine a newborn photoshoot as stress free as the first sip of coffee on a quiet morning.

No packing, no rushing, and all the comfort. I will bring everything we might need (props and lights for those dark winter months), but truly, for a successful newborn photoshoot all you need is your baby.

If there is a little milk mishap, you’re already home and ready to switch outfits. And while we capture those perfect newborn details, older siblings can enjoy their toys instead of turning a studio into a jungle gym. It’s a win all around.

A tiny hand, a soft kiss in the fluffy hair…

…or the way your baby snuggles into your arms. These moments tell the beautiful story of your first days together. Your baby is perfect (obviously!), but you might not feel like yourself yet. That’s ok! I’m not here to focus on the belly that hasn’t quite gone back to its old shape or how tired you feel.

The real focus is on your love and your baby’s sweetness.

You Asked, I Answered: Newborn Photoshoot FAQ

All you need to do is to cuddle your baby, and let me work my magic.

As soon as you are home, but for sure within the first two to three weeks.

If you're past the newborn window, don’t worry—we can still capture those precious moments! At 4-8 weeks, your little one is already flashing those adorable, intentional smiles, making eye contact, and even starting to lift their head. And if you’d rather wait, we can plan for the 6-month mark when your baby is in full Michelin Man mode—super chubby and even cuter!

Your baby is the boss. The session flows entirely at their pace. If your little one needs more snuggle time, a quick milk break, or decides to "redecorate" their diaper, we adapt without missing a beat. I won’t leave it up to you to “make that baby quiet, for god’s sake”. A happy baby is my job and I promise to share my entire baby whispering expertise with you.

The best time to book is around two months before your due date. This gives you time to still consider a belly session, as well as enough time to meet with me and discuss your wishes and ideas. But if you already have a baby in your arms and you just decided to have the session, don’t be afraid to call - I will always try to accommodate!

I love working with children, and they all have completely different personalities. Whether your older kids are wild or shy, they’ll be a joy to work with I’m sure. I’ve gone through Playful Heart photography training specifically for working with children in photography. Your newborn’s safety is our primary concern on the shoot, so I won’t push your older child to hold the baby, or pose for any images that might make the baby uncomfortable.

I have, indeed. I’ve photographed many newborn twins, and you can see examples of those shoots in my portfolio. I’ve also photographed newborn twins with older siblings who were also twins - ha!

Your baby is perfect, but your home doesn’t need to be! There is no need to scrub the house or stress over the mess—those early days are beautifully chaotic. I know that between feeds, soothing sessions, and your baby’s occasional "boob-rage," sometimes there’s hardly time to brush your teeth. I’m here to capture the love and connection, not the state of your laundry pile.
