I am Niki Strbian, an Espoo family photographer, recognized for images anchored in

heart, connection, and truth.

You and me are the same – we are adventurers on a quest to capture the raw beauty of life.

I want to highlight every smile, hug, and often overlooked detail, with a devotion to client experience and my craft, resulting in a visual legacy that will never stop making you smile.

When you work with a photographer specializing in families, everything is easier.

Most photographers only want to work with the “good” kids—the ones who sit still, follow instructions, and smile perfectly on cue. But let’s be honest: most families don’t work like that. Real kids wiggle, giggle, and sometimes need to climb a tree before they’ll sit still for even a nanosecond.

I get it because I’ve been there, capturing the beautifully chaotic essence of families for nearly two decades. You don’t have to explain yourself or your kids to me, yay! I fuel my creativity with what drives most photographers bananas… because that untamed spark is exactly what I’m here to capture.

family photographer you need for life
years of silly jokes to get cheap laughs
(I’m not above that)
countries across 3 continents broadened my horizons
newborn babies that melted my heart (but, phew, not my camera sensor)
photoshoots and every single family brought its own magic to the frame

When you google ‘family photographer Helsinki,’ you’re not just booking a session, you’re summoning Niki.
She draws out unfiltered joy and replaces any doubts with laughter. By the time the shoot ends, your hearts are full, and your kids are already planning their next playdate with Niki.

Excursion to the ancient history

Before I was a photographer, I spent years managing supply chains at Nokia Networks. I never went through corporate burnout—I loved the creativity and problem-solving that a career in logistics required. I have the education to match (Master of Science in logistics and telecommunication) and a heart of an engineer, which I brought along when life shifted.

In a few months, photography went from a hobby to a passion and then in 2006 to a profession. By 2012, I traded my steady corporate paycheck for the thrilling unknown of being a full-time photographer, and it’s been an incredible ride ever since.

Half household income shouldn’t mean half memories. Inquire for details.

Just like every human being, I am a paradox with legs.

I’m half a dog, half a child, half a meticulous planner, and half a spontaneous adventurer. I’m also half a Nordic explorer, half a fairy godmother, half a stand-up comedian, half a cloud of cotton candy, half a steadfast oak, and my best half (other than my family) is a compass—always guiding lovely people in front of my camera toward the moments that truly matter.

What I enjoy when I am not photographing your family.

Photographing northern lights, laughing with my friends, adventuring with my family, walks with my dog, sauna and avanto (winter swimming).

You managed to capture such amazing images both times, even though we felt like walking corpses.

You have this magical ability to connect with kids; our son, who rarely bonds, adored you from the get go, and we couldn’t help but think, “Who is this Mary Poppins?”

You’re so open to collaboration - it never feels like you’re ruling the shoot from an ivory tower.

You are just really good with people, have your own style and humor. You never force kids to do anything—and yet they do everything you ask, feeling comfortable and happy.”

Your photoshoot is a space where everyone has a sense of being fully present and in the moment.

What sets you apart is how you truly see people for who they are, rather than forcing them into preconceived ideas or using them as props for your own style.”

How you feel in the moment matters. Remember to let go and just be the amazing human you are.
